This was a time of attempts to challenge religion in hope to get people to accept rationalism. Nowadays, the masses have exchanged religion for conspiracy theories, or whichever brand of stupidity they could find in their online echo chambers that would provide them with simple explanations of a complex world. However, while you can easily disprove religion, conspiracy theories that replaced religion cannot be disproven rationally, as anyone who ever attempted to do so can attest. In this sense, Asimovs efforts to promote rationalism have failed, as stupidity has found a new way to turn a religious mind into a fortress tightly guarded against reason.

I know for secular people, well, I can't and won't speak for everyone, but I think for many of us, the biggest desire for our secular lives is to make a difference for others during this short struggle we call life. The best we can hope for is to be remembered for making a difference and that it inspires others to do the same. I don't know how many lives you have helped, although a person would be hard pressed not to think it was quite a few, I want you to know that you have made a big difference in at least one, mine. I was raised a southern Baptist, as close to fanatical as you can get without being called fanatical...lol, but things just didn't seem to add up or make sense to me as far as religion and I carried that throughout my life. I guess it was 10 years ago or so when I first found your channel and it was one that help me understand why I had those questions and where they were coming from. It cleared up so much and helped me learn why there was something in my head that kept telling me that religion just didn't pass the smell test. Sorry, long story... anyway, I just wanted to let you know that no matter what happens, you have made a difference in this world. Maybe a small difference to the rest of the world but a BIG difference to at least one life in it. I hope that somehow makes a difference in yours. Take care.

he says that there is no other mention of Jesus in other historical scriptures or writings but i believe the Quran mentions Jesus as well as some other non Christian historical writings....I love listening to his views though, more often than not he is right
